This week, as chaos erupts in Afghanistan following the withdrawal of U.S. forces and the sudden encroachment of the Taliban, we analyze the Biden Administration’s actions and responses to the situation.
This week, after looking at the recent earthquake which rocked Haiti and claimed the lives of at least hundreds of residents, we shift our attention toward the worsening situation in Afghanistan, following the scheduled withdrawal of U.S. forces from the region.
Having been compared in recent days to Saigon at the end of the Vietnam War, the Biden Administration has come under fire for underestimating the speed at which Taliban forces would reclaim the region. While Biden has doubled down on his decision to remove the United States military from Afghanistan, many view the situation as one of the worst foreign policy missteps in recent memory. We analyze the situation on this week’s edition of Middle Theory.
